AASPIRE has created a survey that helps people on the autism spectrum share personalized information with their healthcare providers. The information is meant to help healthcare visits go more smoothly. We are now doing a study to make sure that the survey works well. If you would like to be in our study, you would take the survey two times, two weeks apart. It is important that you complete both surveys. Each survey would take about 30 minutes. You would get paid $5 after the first survey and $25 after the second one.
You can take the survey over the Internet, or, if you live near Portland, Oregon, you can take it in person. If taking the survey over the Internet, you have the option to have the computer read the survey questions and answers out loud.
We have two versions of the survey. In one version, the person on the autism spectrum fills out the survey, with or without help from a supporter. The other version is only to be used for adults on the autism spectrum who are not able to take the survey, even if they had help from a supporter. In this version, supporters answer the questions based on a discussion with the person on the spectrum or based on what they know about him or her.
